Great Deal: Free Facebook Timeline Business Cards

Jan 6, 2012 08:03 PM

When you're meeting new people, chances are they're no longer interested in collecting your phone number or email address. Instead, they're more interested to see if you have a Facebook account. So, what's a better way to get connected online in the offline world than a business card of your Facebook Timeline? The new cover image and info section on your profile makes for a great Facebook business (or personal) card.

A business card company called Moo has teamed up with the social network to offer personalized business cards based off your Facebook Timeline. When you give them access to Facebook, they fill in all of the details of the Facebook Card using your information, including profile and cover images, Facebook URL, location, etc.

Best of all? They're giving away 50,000 free before selling them, starting today. They're already sold out of the 5,000 freebies today, but check back in the morning (EST) when they'll be giving away another 5,000 packs, until the 50,000 mark is reached. Also, they'll be giving away an additional 150,000 packs after that, though there will be a slight shipping fee. Once all of the freebies are gone, pricing per 50 card pack is $15 (shipping included in price).

For the cover images, you can choose up to 50 different ones that are stored on Facebook, or you can just use one. Also, they copy the overall layout, iconography, and font treatment. The end result: a business card that looks like a miniature Facebook Timeline. You can include or hide your phone number or email address. On the back, you can insert a customized quote.

Business card with the quote "One should eat to live, not live to eat."

To get started, visit Moo's Facebook creation page in the morning over the next couple of days. Also, check out their FAQ section. If you miss out on the freebies, at least you now have some ideas for making some DIY business cards based off your Facebook Timeline. If you've got Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign, you're all set. I imagine even GIMP would do.

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
